Phil trained in fine art in the 1980s and recently extended his making skills with acclaimed furniture designer Marc Fish at Robinson House Studio in East Sussex. 

His practice sits at the intersection of the natural and the constructed — drawing from organic forms, raw materials and elemental processes, as well as the geometry and texture of the built environment — transforming these influences into singular pieces of sculptural furniture.
