There are always scraps of wood around the workshop — mistakes from projects that didn’t quite work out, unwanted sapwood, or leftovers from larger jobs.

Rather than throw them out, I try to find interesting ways to reuse them. Sometimes transforming them into small boxes or phone stands, but more frequently the shapes suggest a head, body, arms or legs - and a hybrid creature spontaneously emerges from the remnants scattered around my bench.
